Two executives for Kennywood Park have resigned, according to a spokesman for the amusement park in West Mifflin.

The company announced that Jerome Gibas, general manager for Kennywood Park, stepped down from the post effective Feb. 5 and will be replaced on an interim basis by Rick Stammel, vice president of theme parks for Palace Entertainment.

The company plans to conduct a nationwide search for a permanent replacement for Gibas, officials said.

“We would like to thank Jerome for his more than 40 years of commitment to providing the finest in family fun and entertainment at Kennywood and its sister park, Idlewild and SoakZone,” company officials wrote in a news release announcing the changes.

“Jerome’s service and leadership during his time at each park are greatly valued. We wish him the best going forward,” company officials wrote.

Also stepping down is Chris Salerno, the company’s marketing director.

No information was available about Salerno’s decision to leave the position.
