An Indiana County man is being held in the county jail on $50,000 bond after being involved in an hours-long standoff late Friday with state troopers.

Garry F. Faber, 65, is charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, simple assault and harassment after the incident that occurred at Faber’s residence along the 400 block of Valley Road in rural Green Township.

State police Trooper Jason Kinger alleges that, during the incident, Faber threatened the female victim with a loaded shotgun in front of a 5-year-old boy.

When troopers arrived, Kinger said Faber barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to come out. Kinger reported Faber eventually surrendered late Friday.

He was arraigned Saturday before Clymer District Judge Christopher Welch.
