Indiana County man, 76, dies after suffering burns in a house fire
A 76-year-old Indiana County man who suffered serious burns in an April 4 residential fire died two days later, according to officials.
Michael Recek of Green Township died from extensive burns and inhalation injuries, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. His death on April 6 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh has been ruled accidental.
State police said he was flown to the hospital after being injured in a blaze that broke out just before 9 p.m. on Teak Street in the Green Township village of Starford.
He was alone in the home at the time of the fire, police said. No other injuries were reported.
A state police fire marshal is investigating.
