Giant Eagle hiring 600 people for holiday season
Giant Eagle plans to add 600 jobs this holiday season, company leaders announced this week.
A hiring fair will run 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at 28 sites across the Pittsburgh area, company spokesman Dick Roberts said.
The jobs will be both full-time and part-time positions at Giant Eagle and Market District locations.
Job interviews will be in-person but socially distant, Roberts said. Everyone will be required to wear a mask.
Same-day job offers will be made in many cases, he said. Positions include cashiers, personal shoppers, stock clerks, bakery help and deli clerks.
On Wednesday, South Hills area hiring events will include Bethel Park Giant Eagle, 5055 Library Road; South Hills Market District, 7000 Oxford Drive; and Parkway Center Giant Eagle, 1165 McKinney Lane.
Thursday’s hiring event will see stores in the west that include Leetsdale Giant Eagle, 5 Quaker Village; Robinson Market District, 100 Settlers Ridge Center Drive; and Moon Township Giant Eagle, 5990 University Blvd.
People who live in the North Hills area can find recruiting events on Friday at Shaler Giant Eagle, 1671 Butler Plank Road; Seven Fields Giant Eagle, 206 Seven Fields Blvd.; Pine Township Market District, 155 Towne Centre Drive; and McIntyre Square Giant Eagle, 8080 McIntyre Square Drive.
Waterworks Market District, at 910 Freeport Road, near Aspinwall, will also have its hiring event Friday.
Roberts said the company has put in place several precautions during the covid-19 pandemic to help safeguard employees and shoppers. They include personal protective equipment, plexiglass dividers and frequent sanitization of all common areas. Directional signs were also added to store aisles.
Anyone looking for a seasonal or full-time job should fill out an application prior to the event at jobs.gianteagle.com/recruiting-events.
