Gas prices dropped in Pittsburgh and across the nation over the past week, according to the price-tracking website GasBuddy.com.
In the Pittsburgh region, gas prices were down 2.9 cents per gallon to an average of $2.80, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 731 stations. That’s 3.8 cents per gallon less than a month ago, and 15.1 cents per gallon cheaper than a year ago.
The national average was down 1.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.61. That’s 3.5 cents per gallon less than a month ago, and 6.8 cents per gallon cheaper than a year ago.
Prices in neighboring areas:
• Akron: $2.27, down 16.1 cents from last week;
• Cleveland: $2.37, down 6.6 cents;
• West Virginia: $2.56, up 2.7 cents.
