A garbage truck crashed into a home on Berry Street at Wilson Street in Baden, Beaver County on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021.

No injuries were reported when a garbage truck smashed into a home in Baden Thursday morning.

The crash happened at Berry and Wilson streets around 6:20 a.m., Baden police Chief David Christner said.

Christner said the truck could not stop as it came down Wilson Street, crossed over Berry and into the house, hitting its porch and living room.

The cab of the garbage truck appeared to be almost entirely inside the front of the house.

A family of five, including three children, were sleeping inside when the truck crashed into the living room, Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported.

None of them were hurt, Christner said.

The truck was signed as belonging to Jos. J. Brunner out of Zelienople. A representative could not immediately be reached for comment.

No one in the truck was hurt, Christner said. He was not sure how many were inside; they normally run with two.

Christner said police believe the crash was due to the snow-covered roads. However, state police will inspect the truck for any mechanical issues.

“Our road crew was out,” Christner said. “They had been out and they were hitting the streets as best they could.”
