The American Cancer Society is hosting a colorful fundraiser with the goal of bringing hope to cancer patients.

Daffodil Days, which allows people to purchase flowers that can be delivered to patients in hospitals, treatment centers and other facilities, will return in March.

“We are so very grateful to the individuals and companies who support the American Cancer Society through their Daffodil Days donations each year,” Katie Ronald, American Cancer Society senior community development manager, said in a news release. “While some choose to give these beautiful flowers to their loved ones, other use them as a way to thank employees, friends, and colleagues.”

The annual program returned to the Pittsburgh area in 2018 after taking a four-year hiatus due to organizational changes. Since then, the program has helped to raise funds for research, patient services and other cancer society programs.

Daffodils can be purchased by the bunch for $10 or potted for $15. Tulips are a new addition this year and can be purchased by the bunch for $15. Gifts of Hope, which go directly to a patient, can be purchased for $25. Those include bunches of daffodils.

Orders will be accepted through Feb. 24 and will arrive the week of March 23. More information can be found by contacting Katie Ronald at katie.ronald@cancer.org or at 724-834-5116, extension 65287.
