An agreement has restored one Pittsburgh television station to customers of Verizon’s Fios service while a dispute continues to keep another off for DirecTV subscribers.

Verizon announced to its customers Saturday night that it was able to reach an agreement with Cox Media Group that allows it to restore is programming, which includes NBC affiliate WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh and stations in Boston and Syracuse.

The last contract between Verizon and Cox expired Dec. 31.

WPXI is a news partner of the Tribune-Review.

Meanwhile, a dispute between DirecTV and Hearst Television, parent company of Pittsburgh ABC affiliate WTAE-TV, is ongoing.

A WTAE representative could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday.

Calls to the station’s main phone number are being answered by a recorded greeting that starts with a description of the issue and directs concerned DirecTV customers to contact DirecTV.

Hearst owns and operates 33 television stations.
