Butler teen flown to hospital after two-vehicle crash

A 17-year-old boy from Butler suffered a suspected serious injury in a two-vehicle crash on Route 356 in Jefferson Township on Saturday morning, according to state police.

State police did not release the teen’s name. He was flown by helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Saturday on Freeport Road at Great Belt Road.

According to state police, the teen was driving a Subaru Outback and was stopped at a stop sign on Great Belt Road at Route 356. He pulled into the path of a Ford F-250 on Route 356 by Jeffrey A. Bushnell, 54, of Butler.

A passenger in the teen’s vehicle, Leroy H. Goepfert, 39, of Butler suffered a suspected minor injury but was not taken to a hospital, state police said.

Bushnell was not hurt, according to state police.
