A year-long investigation into methamphetamine trafficking from the West Coast into Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties resulted in the arrest of an Elizabeth Township woman Monday.

Alexis M. “Lexy” Stoupis, 38, of Buena Vista, was arrested in Westmoreland County by troopers with the state police organized crime unit who say they witnessed her delivering contraband during several undercover drug purchases last year.

She was arraigned before District Judge Charles Moore in East Huntingdon on 18 criminal counts of illegal delivery of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a controlled substance, being part of a corrupt organization and criminal use of a communication facility.

According to court documents filed by Trooper Craig Yauch, investigators used a confidential informant to make several controlled purchases of multiple amounts of methamphetamine from Stoupis in parking lots of the Sunoco convenience store on Mt. Pleasant Road in Greensburg, the Giant Eagle in West Newton, the Yough Twister in Sutersville, the 7-Eleven store in Monongahela and the Touch Free Automatic Car Wash on Route 88 in Carroll Township between June and September 2019.

Stoupis was arrested Monday after tests were completed on the contraband by state police forensic laboratory.

Stoupis, who could not be reached for comment, was released on recognizance bond pending a preliminary hearing Sept. 9 before Moore.
