A 2-year-old boy was found dead in Oil City, Venango County, stuffed inside a bag in a basement.

The body of toddler Keaton Morrison was found Wednesday in a home along North Street, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.

Police said the boy’s mother, Caleigh Gladfelter, reported him missing the same day.

She has been arrested on charges of child endangerment in connection to abuse that police said she knew was ongoing by Trevaughn Stribling-Jackson, 24.

Stribling-Jackson has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, concealment of the whereabouts of a child and abuse of a corpse.

According to a criminal complaint, the abuse and killing happened in the basement of the home where the owners said Stribling-Jackson and Gladfelter were house guests.

Gladfelter told police she last saw her son Monday when she left for work and left the boy in Stribling-Jackson’s care.

Gladfelter said Stribling-Jackson later told her the toddler was with relatives.

Gladfelter told police she found traces of blood and became suspicious. She also told police that Stribling-Jackson previously hit her son multiple times but that he claimed the boy fell down steps.

Both adults are being held in the Venango County Jail.
