A woman died in a motorcycle crash in Washington County Saturday afternoon, according to the Washington County Coroner.

The coroner’s office said the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Old Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township.

According to the coroner, Kristine Irvine, 48, was a passenger on a motorcycle traveling west on Old Steubenville Pike. The operator, who was not identified, lost control of the motorcycle and both were thrown.

No other vehicles were involved, police said.

Irvine was not wearing a helmet, according to the coroner. The cause and manner of her death were pending an autopsy and further investigation.

Police said the driver was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was in critical condition.

McDonald police were investigating.
