Pittsburgh police officer hurt while breaking up fight, separate shooting incident results in arrest
A Pittsburgh police officer was injured while attempting to break up a fight on Tuesday evening in Market Square.
A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman tweeted about the incident around 8:30 p.m.
They said officers responded to a dispute between juveniles at the Five Guys fast food restaurant. An officer suffered a hand injury and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
One juvenile was arrested on scene for allegedly assaulting the officer. No other information was immediately available.
Police have responded to Market Square for a reported fight. One officer suffered a hand injury trying to break up the incident. More information to follow.

City police were dispatched a short time later for a report of shots fired in the area of Coffey Way and Sixth Avenue.
Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews said police “located evidence of a shooting” and arrested one person at the scene.
No injuries were reported in that incident.
The two scenes are not believed to be related, Matthews said.
Both investigations are ongoing.
