Police: Woman in Clairton struck by vehicle fleeing the scene after firing errant shots
A woman in Clairton was struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday who had just fired gunshots as they fled.
Allegheny County Police said local police were called to the intersection of Third Street and Waddell Avenue at about 2:20 a.m.
They had received a report “of a disturbance, followed by shots fired and a person down.”
Police encountered a large crowd and woman who had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim, who county police did not identify, was hospitalized in stable condition.
County detectives said their preliminary information shows that after shots were fired, a fleeing vehicle struck the victim and left the scene.
Police said they don’t think that anyone was struck by the gunfire.
