Police: Pittsburgh man facing 90 charges after hiding cameras in restrooms

Police have arrested a Pittsburgh man they say planted cameras inside restrooms — including one at The Frick Pittsburgh in Point Breeze — and videotaped “several hundred” men, women and children.

Todd Bueschen, 35, faces 90 charges that include invasion of privacy, sexual abuse of children and possession of child pornography. He was lodged Wednesday at the Allegheny County Jail.

Police say Bueschen used the camera to spy on museum-goers of all ages inside a unisex restroom at the museum along South Homewood Avenue. Digital data revealed multiple images, including video and still photographs of victims ranging from young children to senior citizens, according to police. At least 20 “unknown children” ages 4 to 10 were filmed unknowingly at The Frick by Bueschen, according a criminal complaint.

A member of The Frick’s housecleaning staff discovered the camera while cleaning the restroom in late July, according to Frick Executive Director Elizabeth Barker.

Bueschen faces 20 counts of sexual abuse of children - possession of child pornography and 70 counts of invasion of privacy.

Inthe criminal complaint, police said they found recordings from at least five bathrooms outside of The Frick of “several hundred unknown victims,” including men, women, and children ages 3 to 17. Bueschen also was recording people in the second-floor bathroom of his home.
