Police: McKeesport man accused of robbing, shooting motorist on Pittsburgh's South Side
Pittsburgh police have arrested a man on charges that include attempted homicide stemming from a Dec. 15 vehicle crash and shooting on East Carson Street.
Ralph Omar Williams, 36, of McKeesport, also is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, reckless endangerment and gun violations. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
According to police, a male victim in the incident was found at about 9 p.m. at East Carson and 18th Street shot in the leg. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
He told police he had been in a collision on the 100 block of Pius Street and was exchanging information when the other driver, who police allege was Williams, shot him, stole his cell phone and fled.
The victim got back into his car and drove on, hitting another vehicle before coming to a stop on East Carson, police said.
Online court records indicate Williams also is charged with reckless driving and other violations related to a Nov. 21 crash in Ross Township. He also is charged with drug and firearms violations and fleeing from police in a Sept. 6 incident in Munhall.
