A man was critically injured in a shooting early Wednesday in Pittsburgh’s Troy Hill, city police said.

Officers responded to emergency calls reporting shots fired in the 1400 block of Lowrie Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. They found a man lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and was reported in critical condition, according to police.

Witnesses told police they saw a vehicle leaving the scene after the shooting, but their descriptions varied, police said.

Detectives from the department’s Violent Crime Unit are investigating.
