Police: Man shot in Perry South, another taken for questioning

A man was hospitalized and another taken for questioning in connection with a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood late Friday morning.

Public Safety spokeswoman Emily Bourne said officers were dispatched shortly after 11:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired at the the intersection of Perrysville Avenue and North Charles Street.

Arriving officers located a man along the 2600 block of Maple Avenue with a gunshot wound to his buttock.

Bourne said he was transported by Pittsburgh EMS in stable condition to an area hospital.

Detectives tracked a white Nissan, believed to be involved in the incident, to the 200 block of East Ohio Street.

Bourne said police took the man to police headquarters for questioning. Further information about this man was not released.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7800.
