A man was arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle on the West End Bridge in Pittsburgh on Monday afternoon.

Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle traveling northbound along Route 51 shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver took off, weaving in and out of traffic.

Cruz said officers stopped the pursuit before reaching the West End Bridge due to the suspect’s unsafe driving.

The vehicle crashed on the West End Bridge ramp to Route 65, Cruz reported.

The driver was arrested near the Carnegie Science Center. His identity has not been released.

The vehicle, a white Nissan Rogue, was reported stolen from North Shore Drive near Acrisure Stadium Sunday afternoon.

No further information was available.
