Police investigating armed robbery at East Hills Family Dollar
Pittsburgh police are investing after officials say someone fired a gun inside an East Hills Family Dollar Sunday night in an attempt to rob the store.
Officers were called to the store, located in the 8100 block of Frankstown Avenue, shortly after 7 p.m. where three witnesses said a man entered the store, approached the counter and pointed a gun at them demanding money from the register.
Witnesses said the man fired a shot into the wall past employees. According to police, the man took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and ran out of the store.
No serious injuries were reported.
