Police investigate after teen shot in Mt. Washington
Pittsburgh police are investigating after a teenage boy reported being shot at a party in the city’s Mt. Washington section.
The 16-year-old went to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm, where he told police he was leaving a house along Secane Avenue when he was shot.
Public Safety Spokeswoman Cara Cruz said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert just before 1 a.m. to the 100 block of Secane Avenue.
“When responding units arrived, they observed a group of people leaving a party in an apartment that was being used as an Airbnb,” Cruz said.
No victims were at the scene but there was a vehicle parked on the street that had gunfire damage.
The wounded teen arrived at a local hospital about an hour later, Cruz said.
The investigation is ongoing.
