Michael Moffett, 33, of Aliquippa is wanted in connection with several business burglaries in Pittsburgh.

An Aliquippa man wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside and Lawrenceville neighborhoods has been arrested.

Michael Moffett, 33, who faces multiple charges including burglary, criminal mischief and theft from a motor vehicle, was arrested by North Versailles police on Monday evening, said Cara Cruz, a spokeswoman for Pittsburgh’s Department of Public Safety.

He had four separate warrants for his arrest when he was taken into custody and is currently in the Allegheny County Jail, Cruz said.

Officials said he is believed to have been involved in break-ins in the Shadyside neighborhood that occurred overnight Aug. 25-26. Three businesses along South Aiken were either broken into or vandalized, and items were stolen from two of the businesses.

Another business along Copeland Street had its doors shattered, items taken and cash stolen from a register.

A fifth business along Walnut Street also had its glass door broken and cash register drawer stolen.

Police also allege Moffett was involved in burglaries between the 3500 and 4100 blocks of Butler Street in Lawrenceville overnight Aug. 27-28.

Three businesses had their front doors shattered, two had their cash drawers emptied and a third had its cash drawer stolen.
