Bella McGraw, 4, looks up at her grandmother, Sharon Stotler, a former Plum elementary school teacher for 35 years, while touring classrooms with her brother, Vinny McGraw, 6, a soon-to-be kindergarten student, during a meet-the-teacher event on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Pivik Elementary School in Plum.

Students in the Plum School District got a look inside their schools and a chance to meet their teachers last week before returning to classes on Aug. 21.

The district hosted Meet the Teacher events at its schools on Aug. 14 and 15. It replaced the self-guided tours and open houses the district previously held.

Afternoon and evening sessions were held Aug. 14 at the high school and middle school, and on Aug. 15 at Holiday Park Intermediate and Pivik and O’Block elementaries.

Teachers and staff were available to share information and answer questions. Students and their parents were able to become familiar with the schools, walk through students’ schedules, visit classrooms and meet educators.
