News briefs: Local students earn college dean's list honors, libraries offer pickup services and more
Dean’s list students recognized
Several Westminster College students from Plum were among the 462 students on the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester.
Students include Allyson Drake in pschology and sociology, Noah Sofran in accounting, Abbegail Froehlich in early childhood and special educaiton and Katherine Mozelewski in neuroscience.
Westminster College is nationally known for its collaborative environment, outstanding experiential learning programs, focus on student success, and the effort invested in making higher education affordable and attainable to all students.
Oakmont library pickup service restored
Oakmont Carnegie Library at 700 Allegheny River Blvd. has restored its pickup service after being temporarily closed due to a staffer testing positive for covid-19 in January.
Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Evening hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m.

Plum library curbside service available
Plum Community Library at 445 Center-New Texas Road offers curbside pickup Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Glass recycling events planned
Oakmont will host three glass recycling events this year. They are planned for April 12-23, Aug. 9-20 and Dec. 6-17.
Unbagged glass bottles, jars and jugs will be accepted.
Cut glass, stemware, glass bakeware, porcelain ceramics, window glass, light bulbs, TVs and monitors will not be accepted.
