Fish fry season, and Lent, have officially begun.

Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Company in Plum continues its food fundraiser tradition with the same menu as last year.

Between 20 and 25 volunteers on Ash Wednesday and every Friday through Good Friday at the fire station at 415 Old Abers Creek Road serve about 1,000 pieces of fish and numerous tubs of haluski, mac ‘n cheese and other sides.

Josh Scalamogna, fish fry coordinator and assistant chief, said they added a new point-of-sale system for faster credit card processing and order recording in an effort to better serve customers and keep track of sales.

He thanked the community and staff for their continued support of the fish fry.

Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Good Friday’s fish fry is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
