There were rain clouds high above the participants of the inaugural Allegheny Freedom Works Easter egg hunt March 28.

Officials said it did not dampen the spirits of participants, as more than 1,000 eggs with various treats were scattered for young scavengers to find.

Hundreds of families from Plum and beyond covered the grounds of Living Word of Plum along Elicker Road searching for the eggs.

The Easter bunny also made an appearance for some photos and people got to mingle with candidates running for various public offices.
