Police have charged a 22-year-old woman in relation to a shooting Friday in the parking lot of a Collier Township shopping plaza, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.
August Lashea Poole, 22, of Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a criminal weapon, WTAE reported.
Police responded to the shopping plaza along Route 50, where they found a victim being helped by another woman, according to a criminal complaint supporting Poole’s arrest. Police said Poole approached an officer and said, ”I was the one who shot her,” WTAE reported.
According to the complaint, Poole’s the remaining rounds in Poole’s handgun matched spent shell casing on the scene. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before taking her to hospital in stable condition, according to WTAE.
Poole told police that an altercation started because of arguments over a cellphone video. The fight “escalated and became physical” and, Poole said, the victim pulled out a can of pepper spray, the complaint said. Poole said she thought it was a deadly weapon and fired a bullet at the victim’s groin area, WTAE reported.
