Pittsburgh police: SWAT units nabs alleged shooter in Hill District after gunfight
A man was arrested Wednesday in Pittsburgh’s Hill District after allegedly engaging in gunfire with another person, prompting Pittsburgh police to respond with its SWAT unit.
The suspects were shooting at each other in the 2500 block of Bedford Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. when officers arriving at the scene said one of the shooters ran into a six-unit apartment building, police said.
The SWAT team went into a locked apartment and arrested the suspect after the female tenant said she had not locked her door, police said.
The suspect, who was not identified, had an outstanding warrant and faces multiple charges, including criminal trespass, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
