Pittsburgh police search for suspect after shots fired in Knoxville domestic incident
SWAT officers responded after police said shots were fired in a domestic incident in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood early Friday morning.
Pittsburgh police officers responded to the incident in the 400 block of Alice Street around 1:45 a.m. A man and a woman were outside the home and unhurt when officers arrived.
Police said SWAT and tactical units were called in because the suspect, a man, was believed to be barricaded inside and possibly armed with a handgun. Police said they recovered a weapon from his vehicle.
Officers called out for the man and negotiators tried to reach him over the phone, but were not successful. A police dog went into the home after gas failed to draw him out.
Officers did not find the man inside the home. Police have not released his name or a description.
Police were continuing to investigate.
