A Pittsburgh police officer was hurt after being struck by a vehicle Monday night while providing security related to President Joe Biden’s visit to Western Pennsylvania.

The officer’s motorcycle was struck by a vehicle as he was blocking a ramp on the Parkway West in Robinson for the presidential motorcade, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. The officer was conscious and alert after the crash and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition. He was treated and released overnight, Public Safety said.

State police are investigating.

Earlier Monday night, Biden had delivered a Labor Day speech at a Western Pennsylvania union hall.
