Pittsburgh police investigating carjacking in Sheraden
A man told Pittsburgh police he was held at gunpoint by two people who stole his vehicle on Thursday in the city’s Sheraden neighborhood.
Police are investigating the carjacking that happened just before 10 p.m in the 300 block of Ashlyn Street.
The victim told police that two men fired a shot into the ground before taking his vehicle.
Officers who had originally responded to the scene for a Shotspotter notification found a shell casing on the ground, according to Cara Cruz, public safety spokeswoman.
The stolen vehicle was later found in a ditch in the 3000 block of Shadeland Avenue.
The occupants fled on foot, Cruz said.
The investigation continues.
