Three people were injured, one critically, in a Tuesday evening collision of a tow truck and pickup truck on Route 51 in Pittsburgh.

A female passenger was ejected from the pickup truck and was in critical condition, according to a Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman. The pickup’s male driver was in serious condition, the spokeswoman said. Both were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The male driver of the tow truck suffered a shoulder injury, according to the spokeswoman. The truck is owned by McGann and Chester, she said.

The crash was reported just after 6:30 p.m. on West Saw Mill Run Boulevard, near Crane Avenue.

The Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit responded, and the investigation is continuing.

Additional details weren’t immediately available.
