A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison after he was convicted of possessing materials depicting sexual exploitation of a minor.
U.S. District Judge Marilyn J. Horan sentenced Desair McCray, 22, Pittsburgh, after it was determined McCray knowingly possessed images and videos containing child sex abuse material.
A search warrant was executed at McCray’s residence after an undercover officer received links created by a person associated with the residence.
A forensic exam of McCray’s iPad and cell phone recovered during that search showed he possessed almost 200 video files and 23 images containing child sexual abuse . McCray also admitted to law enforcement that he sent links to child sexual abuse material to other people online.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
