A Pittsburgh man awaiting sentencing on burglary and assault convictions has been ordered to stand trial on allegations that he raped a 9-year-old girl.

Brandon West, 30, was ordered Thursday to stand trial on charges of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a person under 13 and corruption of minors, court records show. The trial is scheduled to start in February.

West has been in Allegheny County Jail since at least April 2022, court records show. West was found guilty of burglary, assault and firearms charges in May of this year. He is scheduled to be sentenced on those charges in September.

A criminal complaint filed in the new case said that West raped and sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl multiple times starting in 2020. West knew the girl’s mother, the complaint said.

Attorney Meron Murphy is listed as West’s attorney in the new case. Murphy did not return calls Thursday.
