A stretch of Washington Pike (Route 50) in Scott Township re-opened Saturday after a water main that burst Friday was repaired.
The South Hills thoroughfare between Greentree Road and Thoms Run Road re-opened to traffic around 1 p.m., according to Gary Lobaugh, a spokesman for Pennsylvania-American Water Co.
The broken pipeline flooded a nearby power station and buckled portions of the roadway, which closed between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Lobaugh said.
Lobaugh said 175 customers lost water service due to the break. That service was restored around 11 a.m. Saturday.
