An Allegheny County man is being held in the Fayette County Prison Saturday on multiple charges of committing a string of convenience store holdups in the Uniontown area late Thursday, state police said.

Michael A. Priester, 34, of Verona, was arrested Friday by state police on multiple charges of robbery, simple assault, theft and harassment in connection with three robberies that occurred beginning about 11 p.m.

State police said Priester robbed convenience stores along North Morgantown Street in Fairchance, Morgantown Road in Georges and South Union townships.

The specific stores allegedly robbed by Priester were not immediately disclosed by police. No one was believed injured in the robberies.

Trooper Tonya Wroble said that Priester was arrested with the assistance of Uniontown Police shortly after the last holdup in Georges.

Priester was arraigned before Lemont Furnace District Judge Nathan Henning and ordered held in the county prison after failing to post $35,000 bond.
