Ty Pennington, the Emmy Award winning star of the shows “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Trading Spaces,” will be appearing at Riverstone Books in McCandless from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday to talk about his new book “Life to the Extreme.”

Pennington also will be appearing at the Construction Junction surplus material warehouse in Pittsburgh’s East End from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday June 8.

The humorous book focuses on difficulties Pennington encountered after being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder while in college and how he managed a successful career while dealing with the condition.

To support the new book, publisher Harper Collins is sponsoring a $25,000 Kitchen Makeover sweepstakes that includes a personal design consultation and advice from Pennington.

Tickets for both events, which include a copy of the book and a donation to Construction Junction, are available online.

Riverstone Books is located at 8850 Covenant Avenue in McCandless.

Construction Junction is at 214 North Lexington St.
