Trustees raise tuition for Community College of Allegheny County students
Students at the Community College of Allegheny County will have to dig a little deeper this fall to cover tuition and fees after CCAC trustees voted to increase full time, in-county tuition from $1,695 to $1,740 a semester.
County residents attending part time will be charged $116 per credit hour.
Trustees also boosted CCAC’s student services fee from $4.25 to $7.25 per credit hour.
The decision to increase tuition came with the approval of a $121.4 million budget that officials said included costs for programs to increase enrollment and retention.
The new tuition rates are still below those at the Community College of Westmoreland County. WCCC trustees in April approved an in county tuition rate of $1,995 per semester that comes coupled with a $61 per-credit general fee. The per-credit fee for county residents attending WCCC part time is $133 per credit.
