‘Restored by the Fords’ returns to rehab Pittsburgh nests
Pittsburgh natives and sibling renovators Steve and Leanne Ford are back for season three of their HGTV show “Restored by the Fords.”
In a Facebook post, the two announce they are in the process of casting, and again are looking for Pittsburgh-area homeowners looking for a redo.
In an email, Leanne Ford says she and her brother are looking forward to another season and exploring the idea of younger generations returning to their Steel City to set down roots.
“We are thrilled! HGTV loved the connection of family and so many young people coming back to their hometown that came through in season 1 and 2 and is excited to dive more into that story,” she says.
This season’s project will focus on residents who are “coming back home,” returning to nest in the city they may regret having flown.
Pittsburgh has a reputation as a city natives find hard to leave or make their way back to, after finding out the grass is not so green elsewhere.
So, did you purchase the family home you grew up in?
Take possession of the keys to a home formerly owned by one of your childhood teachers?
Maybe you lucked into your dream fixer upper in your old neighborhood?
There are a few specifications to meet if you are hoping the Fords will show up on your doorstep, tool belts and paint brushes in hand.
Candidates must live within one hour of downtown Pittsburgh and be willing to vacate during remodeling.
And they need to have a renovation budget of at least $80,000.
