PWSA: Boil water advisory issued for Upper Lawrenceville

Tom Davidson

A Wednesday morning water main break in Upper Lawrenceville has prompted the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority to issue a flush-and-boil water advisory for its customers in the area.

PWSA was working to repair the break on McCandless Avenue, which was reported at about 6:30 a.m.

Because the lines lost pressure, PWSA issued a precautionary flush and boil water advisory for about 900 customers in the area and a water buffalo is being placed at McCandless Park at 3 p.m. for those who cannot boil their water.

PWSA will conduct testing to confirm adequate disinfectant levels and verify that the water is safe to consume.

The area impacted is between Stanton Avenue and 56th Street and Butler and Duncan streets. For a detailed map, click here.
