Another Port Authority employee who worked at the agency’s West Mifflin garage has been diagnosed with covid-19, authority spokesman Adam Brandolph said Monday.

This is the seventh Port Authority of Allegheny County employee to test positive for covid-19 and the third maintenance employee who worked at the West Mifflin garage.

The employee’s last work day was Friday. The employee has been in self-quarantine since, the authority said in a news release.

Because this is the third covid-19 case in the past four days at the West Mifflin garage, the Port Authority is working with the Allegheny County Health Department to address the situation, Brandolph said.

Over the weekend, the authority moved to a limited work schedule so a cleaning company could disinfect the building.

Of the authority’s more than 2,600 workers, including 1,300 drivers and 800 mechanics, 68 employees weren’t working because of pending covid-19 tests, the authority said.
