This loaded .32-caliber handgun was found in an Ohio man’s luggage Saturday at Pittsburgh International Airport.

An Ohio man won’t face criminal charges after federal authorities found a loaded handgun in a bag at Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday, Allegheny County Police said.

Transportation Security Administration officers found the .32-caliber handgun loaded with seven bullets, TSA said in a news release. The bag belonged to an Ohio man who wasn’t identified.

It was the eighth gun detected at the airport this year, TSA said.

People are allowed to travel with firearms in checked baggage, but they must follow TSA guidelines to do so and declare their firearms at the airline ticket counter, the TSA said.

TSA can assess civil penalties for violations and a typical first offense is a fine of $4,100, the TSA said.
