A man who fled into the woods with his baby brother Thursday morning was arrested after allegedly holding a Clairton woman against her will inside a residence, police said.

Allegheny County Police said the suspect, Erron Jenkins, 22, fled with his 1-year-old brother from the rear of a house in the 600 block of Soltis Drive.

He ran into the woods as police responded to a call at 9:50 a.m. that a woman was being held against her will.

Police surrounded the area, and Jenkins was arrested without incident behind the Baw Plastics Co. on Century Drive.

The child had suffered minor scrapes and abrasions and was taken to the hospital for an examination, county police said.

County police detectives and other law enforcement agencies responded. Several drones were deployed, and the state police helicopter was used in the search.

The woman, who could be seen at the door of the house when they arrived, had been physically assaulted by the man sometime the previous evening, county police said.
