A 63-year-old man assaulted in Pittsburgh last week has died.

Authorities said the victim, whose name has not been released, was found on a sidewalk suffering from severe head trauma around 4:40 p.m. Friday along the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue.

That man was transported to a hospital in critical condition and died Sunday.

Marlon Johnson, 31, of Pittsburgh was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated assault and simple assault in connection with the incident.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.

Online court documents show Johnson remains in the Allegheny County Jail unable to post $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 9 at Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
