Allegheny County Police detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a double shooting Tuesday night in Munhall.

Police had not identified any suspects nor discovered a motive for the shooting as of Wednesday.

A 20-year-old man from the Homestead area and a 31-year-old woman believed to be from Rankin were shot and taken to area hospitals, authorities said.

The man was stable condition, and the woman was critical but stable condition on Wednesday, police said.

Munhall Police were called to the 400 hundred block of East 12th Avenue for a report of multiple victims shot shortly before 9 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the two victims with gunshot wounds.

Munhall Police Chief Pat Campbell said the man was struck in the lower torso and the woman was struck in the chest and shoulder area. Both were alert and conscious when officers arrived. According to Campbell, the victims were on a porch with other people playing cards when someone walked up to the home and opened fire.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous. The department can also be reached via its social media sites.
