Police: 2 arrested after Larimer woman intimidated, shot at twice
Pittsburgh Police made two arrests Sunday in connection to a shooting in Larimer that resulted in two shots being fired at a woman, with one bullet hitting her house.
Police say the two men arrested were part of a group of five that intimidated the woman Saturday night. The shooter remains at large.
Heirahkies Moore-Smith, 20, of Larimer, has been charged with intimidation of witnesses or victims, terroristic threats, and other charges.
The gunshots were fired around 7:12 p.m., according to the complaint, when Moore-Smith walked out of a convenience store and was walking along Larimer Avenue with four other men. When he spotted the victim sitting on her porch, according to arrest papers, he turned to the others and said something to them. They then looked at her.
“At this time Moore-Smith started making ‘finger guns’ at her,” according to the criminal complaint. The victim yelled at the group to leave her alone.
But one of them, dressed in all gray , drew a gun and fired two shots at her, the complaint said.
The victim ducked and jumped inside her house.
She was not hit but a bullet hit her house just above the front windows.
The victim said she knew Moore-Smith because he burglarized her home in January 2018, to which he pleaded guilty.
The victim had called police a month ago, when she saw Moore-Smith passing her house “staring at her,” according to his arrest papers.
After his arrest Saturday, police allegedly found marijuana in his sock.
Quaymar Thompson-Stewart who was with Moore-Smith, ran from police, the criminal complaint said.
An officer eventually caught Thompson-Stewart, who had suffered from a deep cut to his thumb while running around a fence. He was treated at UPMC Mercy hospital and later taken to the county jail. He faces a charge of flight to avoid apprehension. Police did not provide an age or address for Thompson-Stewart.
Moore-Smith also is charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of marijuana and criminal solicitation. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing June 19.
Pittsburgh Police said detectives are investigating.
