Plum and McKeesport first responders, veterans and military personnel are encouraged to attend the districts’ upcoming football game.

Plum hosts Recognition Night Friday at the high school stadium, 900 Elicker Road.

There will be reserve parking and a special tailgate with Junior ROTC cadets starting at 6 p.m.

Kickoff between the Plum Mustangs and McKeesport Tigers is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Cadets will be at the main entrance to assist the special guests into the stadium. Admission is free for them and their families. Other activities include a hospitality tent with snacks during the first quarter.

Plum School District officials said each group will be led out on the track at the end of the first quarter so the crowd can thank them for their services.

“Our district just wanted to show our appreciation and gratitude for those who serve to make our country and communities free and safe for children and their families,” Superintendent Brendan Hyland said.

More information about the event is available at pbsd.net.
