A parishioner at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Bentleyville tested positive for covid-19 Thursday, Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh officials announced.

Officials said the parish followed local, state, and federal public health and safety guidelines, social distancing and mask-wearing was maintained.

A parish team also practiced safety protocols such as gathering attendance records, and parishioners who attended Saturday’s Mass were notified of the situation.

“We offer our prayers and support of our parishioner and continue to work hard to ensure that all safety measures are observed for those who are coming to our churches for our Masses and all other services,” said the Rev. Ed Yuhas.

The church building remains open, and no Masses are impacted.
