Police: Driver flees after hitting man on Fort Duquesne Boulevard

A driver fled after hitting a man on Fort Duquesne Boulevard early Friday, according to Pittsburgh police.

The incident at the Seventh Street intersection was reported to 911 just before 4:30 a.m.

First responders found the man lying in a crosswalk on Fort Duquesne Boulevard. He had severe head injuries and a compound ankle fracture.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police said there were no witnesses and no description of the vehicle.
