Parts of Brownsville Road in two South Hills boroughs will close next month as part of a $1.37 million bridge rehabilitation project.
The Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced this week that Brownsville Road between Linhart Lane in Baldwin and Streets Run Road in Whitehall will close at 6 a.m. June 8 and remain closed until June 13.
Work will take place on Brownsville Road Bridge No. 1.
The project includes completing an epoxy overlay on the bridge deck, which will prevent water and moisture from damaging the bridge; sealing the bridge barriers and sidewalks; and applying pavement markings.
Traffic will be detoured using Clairton Boulevard (Route 51) and Curry Hollow Road, according to the department. Pedestrian access to the bridge’s sidewalks will be limited to 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.
